Resume Writing

  • Resume writing is a sales and marketing tool. It is critical in controlling the initial image you present to us and potential employers. Your resume is the initial screening process which determines whether or not you will receive a preliminary interview with a perspective client.
  • Your resume should summarize and emphasize the following:
    • Contact Information
    • Career Objective
    • Major Achievements
    • Professional Work Experience
    • Education
    • Interests and Activities
    • References
  • Know your resume! You must be able to support the content of your resume with specific examples and proof that your resume is factual.
  • Avoid creative fonts, logos, and formats. Good intentions can be filled with disappointment. This may end up only being a distraction to the potential employer.
  • Be positive. Try to utilize positive influences such as "accomplished", "achieved", "improved", as descriptive words within your resume content.
  • If you are having challenges with the preparation of your resume, please contact us directly and we will direct you to an established and professional resume services organization.

Interview Awareness

Be Prepared
  • Research the company you are about to interview with. This means more than just browsing through their web site.
  • Know who their competitors are.
  • Educate yourself on pertinent facts about the company such as annual sales, locations, and have a strong understanding on what the company does and who their target customers are.
  • Drive by their location to ensure you know where they are located prior to the interview.
  • The web offers many free sites on potential interview questions.....do your homework!
  • Practice your interview skills by role playing with a friend or colleague.

The Interview

Interviews are a two-way street. This is the time where you and the company will determine if your relationship will be mutually rewarding.

  • Dress Appropriately
  • Arrive Early
  • Ask Pertinent Questions
  • Be Positive and Energetic
  • Ask for a Second Interview
